Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

It's A New Season!
We have made it through another year and what a blessing it is!  A year, a day, and a time that will never be seen again.  During that time, we have made some mistakes and prayed for a chance to correct them.  I'm sure many of us may have seen the movie "Groundhog Day", starring Bill Murray, where every morning was the same day, giving him the opportunity to make his wrong decisions right.  Unfortunately, what happens in the movies is not reality.  I wonder, if we had a chance to do some things over again, how long would it take us to get it right?  There will be times when we will have the opportunity to correct our mistakes, but we can never erase our original act.  But, since we must live in the here and now, lets focus on making things better.  Let's put the bad things behind us and press forward to a brighter future.  As the topic reads, "It's A new Season!"
We can all relate to the song the that says, I've had some good days and I've had some bad days, but when I look around and I think things over, all of my good days, they out weigh my bad days and I won't complain.
For many of us 2011 brought some disappointments, sorrows, pains, and at times, total chaos.  We didn't think we would be able to hold our heads up and smile again, but when we look back and think about some
of the things God has brought us through, we made it to see another year.  We have been given another chance to tell our story and encourage someone else that may be going through the same thing or something similar.  We think about how we were ready to give up and give in.  Some may have even considered giving up on life and ending their life, but thank God that He gave you that small ray of hope to hang on in there and now you can tell someone that Jesus is the joy of life and He is working it out for your good. See when we look back and see the magnificence of God and how He encouraged us when no one else would and how He provided for us when we were in need, we can't complain, just give Him glory.  See it is He, the Lord Jesus that allowed us to see a new year, a new day, a new time, in other words, a new season!
The biblical meaning for the number eleven is a representation of disorder, chaos, and judgment.  How appropriate for some of the trials and tribulations we went through on last year, 2011.  But if we would take a moment to reflect back, we will realize that we always knew help was on the way.  As Christians, we know the Word of God says that weeping will endure for a night, but joy will come in the morning.  Let me bridge this gap for you.  If the number eleven represents disorder, chaos, and judgment, we know that things will always get worst before they get better and if weeping will endure for a night but joy will come in the morning, as the year 2012 is but a night's separation from 2011.  So we also know that sometimes things start out promising, like the morning, but then some troubles come, which I like to call midday, finally the troubles are compounded and elevated, which I like to call the darkest hours or our midnight.  But isn't it good to know that after midnight, a new day begins.  I like to think of 2012 as the beginning of a new day or new season, where the biblical meaning for the number twelve is a representation of governmental perfection.  See 2012 will be a season of change for God's people.  This will be a seasonal change from disappointments to successes, from sorrows to joy, from pains to pleasures, and from chaos to calmness!
Its A New Season, Its A New Day!

I pray you have been blessed!

Ambassador: Evangelist B. Jean Powell

Picture
A phenomenal woman of God!  A loving and honest ambassador.  Evang. Powell fervently shared the word of God with all she encountered.  Born on June 21, 1945 and a native of Savannah, Georgia, she obtained her diploma at Alfred Ely Beach High School.  She furthered her education and received a degree as a computer specialist by attending the University of the District of Columbia and Strayer College, both located in Washington, DC.  Evang. Powell also attended Jericho Christian Training College at Jericho City of Praise, located in Largo, Maryland, where she received numerous certificates and awards.  Her professional career was that of an Executive Communication Specialist Supervisor with FDIC.  She accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior in her late twenties.  She began her Christian walk when she attended the Gospel Light Holiness Church, in Savannah, Ga.  She later joined Faith Tabernacle Deliverance Temple in Orangeburg, SC.  After relocating to the Washington, DC area, she became a faithful member of Jericho City of Praise, until she was called to be with the Lord on January 10, 1997.  Evang. Powell faithfully practiced Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."  As a widowed mother of four children, she reared us in the house of God and His favor and blessings are evident in our lives.  January 10, 2012, marks the fifteenth year anniversary of our mother's homegoing.  I honor my mother, a true ambassador.  Although she is physically absent, her teachings and love for God will be passed down from generation to generation.

Happy New Year from Rev. Tess!
